Setting:
At the time, Oxford Gene Technology (OGT) was offering a custom microarray consultancy service, from experimental design to data analysis and interpretation. The North West Thames Regional Cytogenetics Laboratory offers genetics services from laboratory tests to consultation, and one of its partners was Imperial College. Imperial College is a founding partner of London Genetics.
Objectives:
OGT was looking for a clinical genetics laboratory to carry out pre-launch validation testing of its CytoSure oligonucleotide arrays.
Process:
OGT contacted London Genetics in order to help it find a suitable laboratory for this work. Using its network of partners and contacts, London Genetics identified the North West Thames Regional Cytogenetics Laboratory as excellently placed to perform this work, and a collaboration was signed.
Results:
Following successful validation testing at the North West
Thames Regional Cytogenetics Laboratory, the arrays were launched.
Subsequently OGT entered into another collaboration with the Institute
of Cancer Research, another of LGL's founding partners.
